Global Surf Industries invites you to embrace four days of surf, surf, surf at the 2010 Manly Festival of Surfing. Shortboards, longboards, stand up paddleboards, kombis, music, art, film, fashion and every type of surfing contest or display imaginable will be held from 18 – 21st November, supported by Manly Council.
Manly is a world renowned surf spot and breeding ground for world champions.
Paddle out at the opening ceremony at this world renowned break and breeding ground for world champions. Manly will be host to over 50 entertaining events for surfers of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to pros, men and women, young and old.
Grab your board and hit the water for any or all of the open sessions of night surfing, twin fin, young stars, and stand up paddle racing. If your surfing skills just don’t make the cut, grab a lilo and join the comedic inflatable boat race.
Take in the vibe and be on the lookout for legendary shapers, filmmakers, authors, professional surfers, and enthusiasts as you walk the streets of Manly. Watch legends like Jack McCoy, Layne Beachley, Damien Hardman, Tom Carroll and Bob McTavish mix it up with Manly’s best in the water!
Don’t miss the opportunity for daily surf lessons, check out surf documentaries at both the Surfing World film festival @ Starlight Outdoor Cinema and Manly Cinemas, supported by Coastal Watch & mesurf. Stop by the Manly Surf Life Saving Club for a blast into the past of surf history. Stroll into the shops, cafes, and restaurants of Manly to experience surf lifestyle through paintings, photography, and art.
Manly Festival of Surfing’s favourite event will showcase 100 Kombis as they rally into Manly and take pride and place at the beachfront.
Everyone will have the opportunity to test all of the latest and greatest board models available from extremely popular 7s Fishes through to the wild and wonderful Meyerhoffer longboard designs, courtesy of major surfboard distributors including Manly’s very own –Global Surf Industries.
