The 2010 Manly Festival of Surfing presented by Global Surf Industries invites you to embrace the Australian board riding culture, both past and present, amidst four days of every style of surf contests, kombis, music, art, film, and fashion.
The 2010 event is anticipated to attract over 20,000 festival goers over a 4-day period, with the opportunity to see all events up close and personal!
Hero Peter “Beatle” Collins has taken out the Emerging Artist Prize at the inaugural Sculpture at Sawmillers event held on the edge of Sydney Harbour…
And now festival goers can enjoy his works, with the sculptured piece titled ‘Wave out of Water’ on display during the Manly Festival of Surfing.

Growing up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Ed Worland has always been close to the ocean. Having surfed since he can remember, Ed is true a waterman at heart, and his love for sea flows through his music.
A varied blend of loose blues, campfire acoustic, rock and light reggae music,
Ed is joined by his band The Green Teas, extending his talents into heavier blues and pure reggae with the help of a guitar-bass-drum trio.
Playing their last gig at Fishos, the night will kick off with ‘Kenna Donovan, followed by James Willing and Ashton Tremain, with Ed Worland and the Green Teas finishing in style.
Ticket are $10, available on the door from 8pm.

The ‘Seasons’ exhibition is a retrospective exploration of Sprout’s photographic images from 2010…. through the lens of Sprout Daily, observed during the different seasons and moods of Manly’s surfing and seaside lifestyle.
So come along to check out Sprout’s images for opening drinks at The Cartel, or pop in any day during the festival for viewing.

A fascination for vintage fabrics are the inspiration behind a range of ‘WoManly’ surf designs by Dutch local Manly Artist Angela van Boxtel.
‘I love exploring the nostalgia of a surf era only known to me out of movies and magazines’. A small selection of the Artist’s work is on show at the Red Earth Café during the festival.

Manly Art Gallery & Museum is the venue for a compelling exhibition of extreme close-up underwater photography by Jack Cochrane highlighting the beautiful creatures living in marine rock pools.
Using underwater macro lenses and natural light, Jack explores Sydney’s marine rock pools to capture vivid, richly coloured patterns and striking close-up perspectives of the world of sea anemones, bluebottles, jellyfish and algae.

Local Surfers have donated their old surfboards, which have been recycled into colourful chalkboards!
Pick up a piece of chalk and draw on one of the Surf Chalk Boards at Manly’s Ocean Beach front. This is a fun art activity for children & their families.
Creative surfies waiting around to ride their next wave are also encouraged to show their skills on the ‘board’
